White-faced Monkeys (Cebus capucinus)

The White-faced Monkey (also called White-faced Capuchin) is a curious and charismatic monkey found in Central America's rainforests.

White-faced monkeys are omnivores, meaning they eat both plants and animals. They like to eat a lot of fruit, but their curious nature also helps them find treats like bird eggs.

Family of Howler MonkeysMother monkeys carry their babies on their backs, where they are often sleeping.

Like other mammals, baby monkeys get their nourisment from their mother's milk, until they get old enough to eat fruit, insects and eggs on their own.

When they grow up, White-faced Monkeys like to live in groups of 4-6 where they jump and swing their way through the rainforest. These monkeys can live nearly 50 years.
